Aldi Carnivore-ish Diet Haul: What I Buy on a Sunday!

Welcome to My Carnivore-ish Journey

Hey there! This is Doctor Hugh, and today I’m excited to share my latest Aldi haul with you. I’ve been following a carnivore-ish diet since January, focusing mainly on meat, proteins, fruits, and some carbs. This diet has worked wonders for me and my clients, especially those suffering from antibiotic damage. Let’s dive into what I bought!

My Aldi Grocery Haul Breakdown

Fruits and Keto-Friendly Snacks

I love shopping at Aldi because of their high-quality fruit selection. Here’s what I picked up:

  • Blackberries: I got three packs of these delicious berries.

  • Blueberries: Another favorite in my fruit arsenal.

  • Keto Coconut Clusters: Perfect for satisfying my sweet tooth without straying from my diet.

Choosing the Right Fruits

For those with severe chronic conditions, I recommend fruits without seeds like apples, pears, and peaches. Seeds can contain neurochemicals that some people are sensitive to.

Nuts and Trail Mix

I do enjoy some nuts and trail mix, but I advise my clients to avoid seeds initially. Here’s what I got:

  • Trail Mix: A mix of raisins, peanuts, sunflower kernels, dried cranberries, and almonds.

  • Sunflower Seeds: A crunchy, healthy snack.

Embracing Full Fat and Protein

Coffee and Dairy

I start my day with a cup of coffee mixed with full-fat cream. Don’t be afraid of fat! However, if you have GI issues, fibromyalgia, or brain fog, you should avoid dairy initially and focus on a strict carnivore diet.

Meat – The Heart of My Diet

Aldi has a fantastic meat selection. Here’s what I bought:

  • Black Angus Beef Patties: Six juicy patties ready for the grill.

  • Organic Grass-Fed Beef: 100% grass-fed and 90% lean.

  • Black Angus Ribeye Steak: A flavorful, protein-packed choice.

  • Black Angus Eye of Round Steak: Another great option at a reasonable price.

For those following a carnivore diet, you need to consume enough protein. If you weigh 150 pounds, aim for 150 grams of protein daily. This might mean eating a pound and a half of beef!

Protein Shakes for Convenience

Sometimes, eating enough meat can be overwhelming. That’s where protein shakes come in handy. I use pure protein powder made from hydrolyzed beef. Here’s my morning shake recipe:

  1. Two scoops of pure protein powder (40 grams of protein).

  2. A cup or cup and a half of whole milk.

  3. Raw oatmeal.

  4. Fish oil and phosphatidylcholine for cell health.

  5. Ice cubes.

This shake gives me around 50 grams of protein to start my day.

The Benefits of the Carnivore-ish Diet

Since adopting this lifestyle, I’ve experienced significant muscle gain and improved gym performance. My clients have seen remarkable results too, with better clarity, energy, and overall health.
